Lee cleans up for GUTS!
A local business owner has raised over £500 for Guildford based charity GUTS Fighting Bowel Cancer after completing Sunday’s RideLondon 100.
Lee Sullivan, proprietor of Sullivan Window Cleaning, raised the money by donating £1 from each wash the business carried out in July.
He said: “With additional support from family and friends along with the £1 per wash, I was able to top £500. My late grandad was treated for bowel cancer so I was really pleased to be able to ride for GUTS.”
Lee took 9 hours 20 minutes to complete the 100-mile course which follows the Olympic route from the Queen Elizabeth II Park out through London to Surrey, taking in Newlands Corner, Leith Hill and Box Hill before its return to the capital.
Lee’s sponsorship will support a £150,000 appeal that GUTS is currently running for new audio visual training equipment at the RSCH. The system will help prepare the next generation of endoscopists, gastroenterologists, nurses and surgeons in the diagnosis, care and treatment of bowel cancer patients.
