Fundraise for GUTS

Run, walk, cycle, cook, quiz, sell, trek, paint, make, swim, perform – whatever your passion is, you can turn it into a fundraiser for GUTS!

Organising your own fundraiser

Your fundraising activity could be anything from a family celebration with donations in lieu of gifts, to a sponsored challenge, quiz, garden party or face-painting stall at a local fete.

Getting Sponsored

If you’re taking part in an organised challenge such as a run or cycle, all you have to do is collect some sponsorship. The easiest way to do that is by setting up a page on a fundraising platform such as Just Giving page or Total Giving. It’s really simple – just go to the GUTS page on either of those platforms and follow the steps to set up your page. It will then be linked to the charity’s own page, in case your sponsors want to know more about GUTS. Then all you have to do is share the link to your page with friends, family and colleagues.

You can also collect sponsorship the old fashioned way by downloading a sponsorship form here.

Organising a fundraising event

If the event you are organising is anywhere other than your own home, you should carry out a risk assessment. You should also check out what licences you may require for serving and selling alcohol, music/performance or food preparation with your local council. You should also get public liability insurance cover (PLI); for just one event this is quite inexpensive.

Running a straightforward raffle that will be drawn on the same day you sell the tickets does not require a licence but a draw where tickets are sold in advance does. Find out more here.

Organised fetes and fairs

If your fundraiser is piggy-backing on an organised event, that will leave you free to concentrate on your fundraising activity, although the event organisers may well ask you for a risk assessment and PLI. Likewise, if you are selling alcohol or preparing food, you will need the relevant licences and food preparation certificate.

Turn your ballot place into a fundraiser for GUTS

If you are lucky enough to get a ballot place in a big, organised sporting event such as a national marathon or half-marathon, why not spread the love and turn your good luck into a funds for GUTS?

It may well give you that bit of extra incentive because all your sponsors will be taking a special interest in how you get on. We can supply you with a tee-shirt, all you have to do is set up a fundraising page (see above) and share it far and wide!

Got the guts? Get the tee-shirt!
